Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

Purity Class

The Purity Class is composed of boys and girls ages 12 to 19. Members of this department are called Puritans and classified into groups according to age and interest.

Some of the objectives of the purity class are to lift and protect moral standards, beautify homes and church life, emphasize on godliness, cleanliness as well as training our youth to be leaders of tomorrow.

The adult leaders are called Purity Ladies instead of Presidents.

For more detailed information on the Purity Class consult the annual purity “Topic with Guidance.” It is an excellent work which gives all the ABC’s of organizing and operating a successful Purity Class.

Sunshine Band

The Sunshine band offers a great challenge for the women of the church to deal with the formative years of children from the ages of five (5) to twelve (12). Many physical, mental and spiritual changes are evident, from the losing of teeth to the entrance of adolescence.

It will take an understanding woman who understands these changes and be willing to cope with them. For Shunshine bands with large numbers, it will be well to divide the group up into two or three divisions. A child five years of age has different interests from a child twele years of age.

By the time the child is twelve, he has already decided that he will or will not accept Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is to be made attractive in every way, in music, games, worship, etc. No investment is too great to give our children the true meaning of the Creator and His personage and bodily representation through His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Sunshine band is one of the old auxiliaries of the church and many of our “greats” came through it. Special programs are always in order for Sunshiners.

It is organized on a local, district, state and national level. there shall be a president who is titled “Big Sister Sunshine,” secretary, treasurer and teachers.

Men of Valor

Men of Valor reaches young boys and teenagers from the ages of 7 to 17.

They are supervised by a big brother who serves as leader for the group.

Cradle Roll

The Cradle Roll is the foundation department because it deals with a child’s development from the time he is born till he is four (4) years old.

By the time a child is five years old his personality is so well molded it can hardly be changed, therefore, it is important to start Christian character building at the beginning of a child’s life.

The Cradle Roll draws all the family. Its work is slanted to parents.

The Cradle Roll will establish a contact that will attract young marrieds to Christ and the church. It will also strengthen and encourage them to hold on and apply Bible principles to all phases of family living, teaching them to maintain a truly Christian home and in return shape their baby’s first attitude toward God and the church.

The Cradle Roll is a home centered-ministry. Its workers should be real missionaries who are wise, understanding, friendly and able to cultivate keen interest in the activities of the church.

They may also present nursery programs and assist with the Christening Ceremonies.
